of california grocery workers are on strike and it could be a sign of things to come. good evening. i'm diane dwyer. with one last day of campaigning left before election day, the presidential candidates are making their final argue s to voters in all of those battleground states. brian moore has a look at two of them, ohio and pennsylvania. >> reporter: with the 2012 campaign virtually tied heading in to its final day, mitt romney tried to shape president obama's hold on pennsylvania. >> the president thinks more government is the answer. no, mr. president, more good jobs, that's the answer. the romney campaign is hoping to claim pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes and redraw the battleground map in the waning hours of the race. but ohio is still looking like the clincher. hours after governor romney was there, the president traveled to the buckeye state to defend his six-point lead. >> who do you trust? look, ohio. you know me by now. >> the final nbc poll before the election shows this race is a statistical dead heat and that increases pressure for both campaigns to get out the vote on tuesd

he calls the california dream. voters have approved proposition 30 his education tax initiative. you can see on the screen. 54% to 46%. and that is with -- actually that is all of the precincts reporting out. tara moriarty is in san francisco with what the vote means for california's public schools. >> reporter: we are standing in front of mission high school. and it is one of the oldest in fact the oldest high school in san francisco and it's struggling but the students here may now benefit from prop 30 passage. san francisco voters overwhelmingly supported the measure as did folks in alameda and santa cruz. they all raise the states sales tax by a quarter of a cent for four years and increase income taxes for people that make $250,000 a year by up to three percentage points. it's projected to raise $6 billion a year for schools. >> when i ran for governor, i did say i said three things. one, i want to level with you tell you the truth no more smoke and mirrors on the budget. two, we're not going to have any taxes unless the people themselves vote for it. and three we're going to mo
